EBERT SORKNESS — Susan Hill, a member of the Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131 Auxiliary of Colfax, received an Award of Excellence for Membership Achievements for her work with the Ebert Sorkness recognition in June of 2021, from the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Wisconsin presented by Margaret Larson of River Falls, Tenth District Auxiliary president, at the Colfax American Legion Auxiliary's August 10 meeting. Sorkness, who lived in Colfax, died at the age of 100 in 1940 and was the last surviving Civil War Veteran in Dunn County. — Photo by LeAnn R. Ralph
